Nowadays VoIP evolves so fast, that it unleashes great potential for innumerable applications. Some of those applications have immediately gained respect and acknowledgement because of the functionality and cost-savings they deliver. Call rating is a perfect example for such an application, and has already become an irreplaceable part of modern telephony services.

Attractel Rate Engine

Attractel's Rate Engine is a dependable real-time call rate calculating system, meant to boost the functionality of IP Service Providers. It is the ultimate solution for automated managing and rating of calls of service subscribers. Rate Engine is designed to easily administrate lists of end-users with different rating plans and resellers with their customers as well. But that's not all, because the Rate Engine is just as convenient for the resellers themselves, who can keep updated with the status of their subscribers, while the users can also keep track of their calls.

Attractel's Rate Engine presents a user-friendly web interface that provides simple browsing to the required information, no matter if it is for the administrator, reseller or the end-user. Just enter the username and password and you are in. But, after all, it's the rating that makes our solution so valuable, for it calculates rates of calls with all complexities, regarding plans, peak or off-peak time periods and everything related. The operability and flexibility of Rate Engine keeps everything neat for monitoring, managing and rating the calls of your carrier.


Attractel 's Rate Engine comes in three versions, each offering more functionality over the previous: Basic , Pro and Enterprise:


1. Basic (minimum functionality) version

•  Timeout calculation and absolute call timeout

•  Connection pooling

•  Pre-charge accounts when calculating timeout and return the non-consumed amount after hangup

•  Pre-paid/post-paid accounts and credit limit

•  Customer blocking

•  Different rates for different periods (PEAK, OFFPEAK, Holidays ...)

•  Detailed cdr with all rating data allowing reconstruction of the rating details

•  Reliable cdr logging (write a log file with each failed cdr, so it can be written later to DB)

•  Simple event logging


2. Pro version

In addition to the basic version, the pro version includes the following advanced features:

•  Basic call shop support – subscribers can view calls summary for the last active session

•  Carriers and tiers – prices are defined depending on different carriers and tiers

•  Basic routing – choose through which carrier and tier to route the call based only on the dialed destination

•  Resellers and reseller web interface (the reseller can manage all its customers)

•  Can change CallerID

•  Can change caller presentation (coming soon)

•  Simple dial prefixes (like emergency prefixes) (coming soon)

•  Close stale calls from the web interface (coming soon)

•  Automatically close stale calls on Asterisk startup (includes regular Asterisk status updates to the DB) (coming soon)

•  Basic accounting – though rate engine is not a billing system, it can take account of which calls are paid and when each customer has paid for them (coming soon)


3. Enterprise version (full featured)

In addition to the pro version, the enterprise version includes the following enterprise features:

•  Can have different currencies for different rate plans. Each price is calculated in its rate plan currency, but when showing cdr or calculating expense/revenue a conversion can take place - all prices are converted in customer rate plan currency

•  Active call limit – limit the number of simultaneous calls for a customer

•  Advanced routing – choose through which carrier and tier to route the call based on multiple criteria - destination, plan, customer, reseller, etc...

•  Least cost routing

•  Free minutes/discount plans

•  Destination/zone/prefix restrictions (blocking)

•  Call forwarding (follow me)

•  Allowing call interception – route a call to PSTN when interception is needed

•  Dial prefixes, based on customer location information

•  Re-rate a call after price/rate plan/destination data has been changed / fixed to correct rating errors

•  Rate plan price simulator (tester) - check what the prices would be in a given rate plan for a given destination, duration, time, etc...

•  Advanced customer/call/server statistics

•  Revenue/expense statistics (for each customer, plan, app, destination, should think about)

•  Customer/destination duration statistics (should think about)

•  Detailed session event loggin
